Meet a Frankfurt TOEFL Tutor: Vijay S.

Vijay S. was born in Chennai, India, and lived there for the first eleven years of his life until his mother accepted a position with a large tech company in Silicon Valley. Vijay loved working with computers and quickly became skilled at developing his own app-based games and simple programs. Vijay worked hard at his competitive high school and obtained an impressive ACT score, which allowed him to attend Dartmouth University, where he majored in computer science. He also spent four semesters as a teaching assistant and peer tutor. After graduating from Dartmouth, Vijay went on to obtain a master's degree in computer science, as well as a TESOL certificate, from the University of California at Los Angeles. After graduating, he happily accepted a position with a large non-profit organization focused on improving access to technology in underserved areas around the world.

Vijay traveled the world for more than ten years, living in India, Hong Kong, Korea, and Sri Lanka before eventually settling in Frankfurt. While he enjoyed his work with computers, he also enjoyed helping others learn, and he knew firsthand how important a knowledge of the English language could be. Vijay soon joined the team at Manhattan Review, and his students appreciate his patience, as well as his clear explanations. When Vijay isn't setting the next generation of college students up for their own successes, he can be found working on his art and sketching awe-inspiring cathedrals.
