Meet a New York LSAT Tutor: Carlos Z.
Carlos Z. was born in Argentina but moved with his family to Miami when he was in middle school. Both of his parents worked as lawyers, and Carlos was inspired by their passion for justice. Carlos worked hard during high school and earned an impressive ACT score, allowing him to attend the University of Michigan. During his time there, Carlos majored in pre-law and worked as an English tutor in the college's learning center for several semesters. Carlos wanted to attend the best law school he could be accepted at, so he enrolled in an online group prep course to ensure he was as prepared as possible for the LSAT. His hard work was rewarded with a very high LSAT score, and Carlos ultimately decided to attend Columbia University, where he specialized in international law. Upon graduation, he accepted a position with a large non-governmental humanitarian organization and remained in New York with his wife.
Carlos spent a decade working with a variety of companies on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and protecting trade secrets. He enjoyed the work he did, but after his daughter was born, he chose to focus on teaching fulltime, hoping to mentor lawyers earlier in their professions. He soon joined the team at the local Manhattan Review office, where his classes always fill up quickly, due to his clear explanations, time-saving study tips, and strong writing abilities. When he isn't helping future lawyers master the LSAT, Carlos can be found enjoying coffee at his favorite café and volunteering with a neighborhood clean-up organization on the weekends.
