Meet a London ACT Tutor: Estelle Q.

Estelle Q. was born in Valencia, Spain, and lived there for the first twelve years of her life until her mother was offered an exciting job opportunity in San Diego. Estelle dreamed of one day having a job that allowed her to live and work anywhere in the world while reading books for a living. Estelle knew in order to become a professional editor she would need a strong undergraduate education, so she worked very hard in school. She prepared for the ACT by enrolling in a classroom-style group prep course, and her diligence was rewarded with a very high score. Estelle chose to attend Princeton University, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in English, as well as a master's degree in education so she could teach writing and English classes. She also worked four semesters as a tutor, and after graduating, she accepted a position with a well-known publishing house.

When Estelle's wife was offered a new job in London, she was happy to relocate, since she could easily continue her editing work. She also hoped to find ways to work with students, helping them improve their reading, grammar, and writing skills. When Estelle learned Manhattan Review had a local office, she applied for an experienced instructor position and was quickly welcomed to the team. Students praise her supportive personality and patient explanations, filling her courses almost as soon as they are announced. When she isn't guiding future college students to their own test-taking success, Estelle can be found browsing through neighborhood bookstores and working on her own novel.
